Victoria Keesing "Break"
$1,800
“Clay remembers every force that has acted upon it.” Like the earth, we shift, erode, break apart and reform. Keesing’s sculptural forms evoke ocean waves and shifting terrain, reflecting moments of uncertainty, disruption and renewal. Each work develops slowly through a combination of wheel-throwing and hand-building. Clay is stretched, folded and allowed to crack, leaving visible traces of its making. Neither landscape nor vessel, these forms occupy the space between turbulence and stillness, acknowledging overwhelm while offering the possibility of renewal.
