Melissa Ladkin "Giledjuwaa - from inside"

Country is our first mother, carrying the memory of every footprint, every season, every story. She holds the voices of our grandmothers and the generations who have cared for these lands long before us, reminding us that we are never separate from them. The countless relationships that weave us together, people, plants, animals, waterways and spirit. They remind us that nothing exists in isolation. Every act of care ripples outward, strengthening the health of Country and the wellbeing of community. It honours the enduring wisdom of our mothers and grandmothers, whose knowledge teaches that Country is not a resource to be taken from, but a living ancestor to be respected, protected and loved. 30.5 x 30.5 cm Ochre pigments on Linen canvas
