Leah Anketell "Twilight Dancers"

LEAH ANKETELL Fine Artist Born in Bulli NSW 1984. Leah is a Northern Rivers based artist who works in large spectrum oil painting accompanied with gold and/or silver leaf. 
Leah’s subject matter often features native Australian wildlife amongst highly detailed and symbolic landscape scenes surrounding Byron Bay and beyond.‘Leah’s paintings demand attention and spark curiosity’ - Byron Shire Echo. Leah states ‘the principle theme of my  work is the beauty and diversity of Australian landscape and wildlife. Being absorbed in nature and recreating visited scenes brings healing and a spiritual connection for me.’ Having family in the arts, Leah began creating at the young age of 6. By 18 whilst studying for her diploma of arts Leah’s exhibitions in the Illawarra began to sell out. At 22 Leah was offered a full time roll as a scenic artist for Australian film production around the country. In 2012 she moved to Byron bay to pursue oil painting full time. She is now currently considered to be an established artist showing exclusively at Ninbella Gallery Bangalow.
